Located in Seattle, Washington Alpha Martial Arts is dedicated to helping people improve their lives through martial arts. We are a Black Belt School developing students that are not only physically fit and can defend themselves, but who are, most importantly, outstanding members of the community. We achieve this by teaching life skills through blocking, punching and kicking. Our integrated Powerful Words character development program builds respect, self-confidence and social skills. Our outstanding martial arts program provides life-long fitness and teaches incredibly effective self defense skills. Parents, family members, and teachers frequently speak of the beneficial effects that Alpha Martial Arts has had in performance, self-esteem, and general attitude.

	Chris Herrman, Owner & Senior Instructor Mr. Herrman began training in Karate as a student at Syracuse University in 1991 and has been teaching since 1994. He relocated to Seattle in 2001 and is currently ranked as a 4th degree Black Belt in Ed Parker's American Kenpo Karate under Mr. Brian MacDonald and is a 2nd Grade Black Belt in Doce Pares Eskrima under Mr. Jason Silverman. He is a member of the National Association of Professional Martial Artists, the Martial Arts Teachers Association and is a 3x Black Belt Schools International Certified Instructor (2005, 2006, 2007).
	Astre Kay, Juniors Karate Instructor Miss Astre is a black belt instructor for the Juniors Karate program at Alpha Martial Arts. She received her martial arts instructor certification from Black Belt Schools International in March of 2006.
	Astre Kay, Head Yoga Instructor Astre is a graduate of the Alvin Ailey School of Dance in NYC and is a member of the Oaklan Drive Dance Company in Seattle, WA. She completed her yoga teaching certification from the Hatha Yoga Center in 2006.
	Mackenzie Waller, Adults Karate Instructor Miss Mackenzie began her martial arts training in Oxnard, CA under the Flores Brothers. She relocated to Seattle and has the distinction of earning the first black belt under Mr. Herrman.
No Photo Available	Jessica Peacock, Kickboxing Instructor Jessica is the primary instructor for our Fitness Kickboxing program. She came to Alpha Martial Arts with 7 years of training under Sifu Kevin Seaman (NYS representative of the Thai Boxing Association of the U.S.A.) in Cortland, NY. She earned a BA from Ithaca College in 2005 and completed her kickboxing instructor training at AMA in August of 2006.
	Allyson Meadows, Assistant Karate Instructor Miss Allyson is an assistant instructor for the Junior Karate programs at Alpha Martial Arts. She is an AMA Black Belt and a 2nd degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. She received her instructor certification from Black Belt Schools International in March of 2006. Miss Allyson is currently living, training and teaching in Anchorage, AK and will be a special guest instructor at the AMA Karate Camps.
	Nicole Gurley, Assistant Karate Instructor Miss Nikki is an assistant instructor for the Junior Karate programs at Alpha Martial Arts. She is an AMA Brown Belt and received her instructor certification from Black Belt Schools International in March of 2006.
No Photo Available	Timothy Reilly-Crank, Assistant Karate Instructor Mr. Tim is an assistant instructor for the Junior Karate programs at Alpha Martial Arts. He is an AMA Junior Black Belt and captain of the AMA Demo Team.
No Photo Available	Matthew Brudvik, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor Mr. Matt teaches the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program at Alpha Martial Arts. He comes to us courtesy of Mr. Brian Johnson at the Northwest Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Mr. Matt is a former wrestler, with a strong competition record in regional gi and no gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission grappling competitions.
No Photo Available	Michael Murray, Striking Coach (MMA, Boxing & Kickboxing) Mr. Mike offers private and semi-private striking coaching for beginner, amateur and professional boxers, kickboxers and mixed martial arts. He has a wealth of experience and was most recently an Assistant Coach for the IFL (International Fight League) Seattle Tiger Sharks.
	DELTA Team (Mr. Chris, Mr. Chase & Mr. Tim) The Delta Team is part of the Teen Leadership Program at Alpha Martial Arts. These outstanding young adults assist with classes and provide extra help lessons to students as needed.
	Black Belts! Alpha Martial Arts is a Black Belt School. Our long-term goal for every student is Black Belt. Mr. Herrman teaches a Black Belt class twice a week and is extemely proud to have all of the black belts he has promoted actively training at the school and working on their advanced Black Belt degrees.
