Hurricane Katrina Relief
Dear Alpha Martial Arts families and friends,
If you have been watching the news I know your heart is breaking for the many people who have lost everything in New Orleans. The devastation that has been left in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina is stunning. Those affected have just lost homes and family members and it is clear that the clean up efforts are going to take months.
During the month of August Alpha Martial Arts’ Powerful Word was “Citizenship” and one of our weekly discussions centered on the importance of providing charity to those that are less fortunate than us. Well, there are a lot of people that are less fortunate than every one of us at this moment.
We teach our students and families about courage, responsibility, friendship, integrity, dedication and the list goes on and on. All of these life skills give us the power to be a better person and we now have an opportunity to do more than talk about them. We have an opportunity to “walk our talk” and help our fellow citizens.
Alpha Martial Arts is participating in a martial arts industry wide effort, organized by United Professionals, to raise $50,000 for the Red Cross relief efforts. I am asking for your help.
Please open your hearts and your check books, if you have not done so already, and make a donation to the Red Cross. Relief funds are the most immediate way we can help and I want to make this as easy as possible for you. All you have to do is reply back to this email with the amount you want to donate (Please donate $?????.00) and I will have ASF donate it out of our billing check. Then you just have to drop a check off the next time you are in class. Checks should be made payable to the Red Cross.
If every family from Alpha Martial Arts donated just $50 we could send over $5,000 to the Red Cross to help those that have been displaced from their homes, their communities and their families.
