Powerful Words Teens & Adults – Courage W2

Week 2: This week we’re talking about trying new things. As we get older, we tend to get comfortable. We find what we like and stick to it. We may even do what we don’t like because we fear putting ourselves out there and trying something new. But as the philosopher, Soren Kierkegaard, once wrote; “To dare is to lose one’s footing momentarily. To not dare is to lose oneself.” Do you agree? What are the benefits of trying new things– and what are the benefits of simply doing what we always do? This week, your Powerful Thought Assignment is to get honest with yourself. Are you putting yourself out there and trying new things or have you gotten complacent and comfortable? What can you try that would enrich your life and challenge you in a new way?
