December POWerful Word – Open Mindedness – Week 1

How might someone feel when they are getting ready to try a new activity or a game that they’ve never done before (i.e. nervous, anxious, excited)? What might they be thinking right before trying something new (i.e. Will I be good at it? Will people laugh? I don’t know if I’m going to like it)? Name something that you like to do that was once new to you. What made you decide to try it? How do you feel about it now that you’ve tried it? It’s so important to try new activities. Why do you think that’s true (i.e. Never know if you like it until you try it)? When you first came here to class, what did you think– were you nervous/scared? What do you think now? It’s important to keep an open mind. Your favorite things to do were once new to you!
