May POWerful Word – SPORTSMANSHIP – Week 4

Everyone makes mistakes. Sometime we make choices that we regret or would like to change. What does it mean to “regret” a choice? We might get caught up in the moment of competition and say/do something that we don’t mean. What are some choices people might make in competition that they regret later (i.e. yelling, bragging, calling names)? What would you do if you made a mistake and yelled at someone– like a coach, teacher, or friend, while competing (i.e. apologize sincerely, make it right)? What would you do if you were bragging about winning or complaining about losing and you found out it hurt someone’s feelings? What would you do differently next time? What have you learned about yourself by competing in different competitions and contests? Good!

If you have time: If you have time: Do leaders make mistakes in competition? Why is it important for leaders to apologize when mistakes are made? Great!
