Mr. Tom Callos – Guest Instructor

During the first week of October we hosted Mr. Tom Callos. Mr. Callos has been training and teaching in the martial arts his entire life. He is a 7 degree black belt in Taekwondo, brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and father of Keenan Cornelius, the top jiu-jitsu fighters in the world right now. He travels the world sharing his philosophy on the martial arts with instructors and students of all disciplines. I liked the noodle evasion drills he did with the Little Dragons and Juniors Basic class. Mr. Callos brings a lot of intensity to his class, and the students responded well. He expects a high level of discipline and focus from his students, but his sense of humor helps him connect with kids and I think they enjoyed it. The Juniors Int/Adv and Brown/black class. learned some new grappling defense. (See videos below.) One my black belts asked if he would be back next week! The teens/adults class learned a combo of striking and grappling drills. I hope all the students enjoyed their time with Mr. Callos on the mat!
