Powerful Words Teens & Adults – Citizenship W3

Week 3: This week, we’re talking about using our talents and our time to make an impact on our community. Now, we’re all good at several things but most of us are short on time. As teens and adults we have to decide how to use the time we have to make a difference. Theological author, Richard Whately, once wrote, “A man is called selfish not for pursuing his own good, but for neglecting his neighbor’s.” How can we use our talents and our time to help others in our immediate community as well as to help more distant communities (i.e. fundraising, building, performing, rallying, coaching)? This week, your Powerful Thought Assignment is to think about the ways you can use your talents and your time to help others in your community and beyond. What are you currently doing? What can you commit to doing?
