Powerful Words Teens & Adults – Dependability W3

This week, we’re talking about who we can depend on and who depends on us in our own lives. Some relationships are reciprocal– we depend on people and they depend on us. Others are a bit more one-sided. When do you think people must insist that both people in the relationship must pull their weight and when do you think it’s OK for one person to be more dependable than the other person? Who are the people who are always by your side when you are in need? Who are the people who would say the same about you? Do your actions support their assessment? Remember, someone once said, “people will judge you by your actions, not your intentions. You may have a heart of gold – but so does a hard-boiled egg.” We can’t just pay “lip service”– do you demand the same from others as you demand of yourself? This week your Powerful Thought Assignment is to take inventory on the dependable people in your life. Who depends on you? Do you expect too little or too much? Do they expect too little or too much of you?
