Powerful Words Teens & Adults – Dependability W4

Week 4: This week we’re talking about what happens when we make a mistake. While as leaders, we know that we must be accountable and take swift action if we make a mistake, others make excuses and blame others. Do you know anyone like this? Dan Zandra once said, “Some favorite expressions of small children: “It’s not my fault. . . They made me do it. . . I forgot.” Some favorite expressions of adults: “It’s not my job. . . No one told me. . . It couldn’t be helped.” True freedom begins and ends with personal accountability.” Why do you think it’s so important to take responsibility when something goes wrong? This week your Powerful Thought Assignment is to get honest with yourself. Are you dependable even when it’s uncomfortable? Do you blame and make excuses? What do you need to do to make it right?
